The man who spends as much time on top of the crowd as on stage. But where did Dr. Madd Vibe come from? Around 1995, Angelo began writing and performing poetry as Dr. Madd Vibe. He uses his experiences growing up as a “fly in the buttermilk” in the predominantly white suburbs of the San Fernando Valley of LA as inspiration. He talks about racism, social corrosion, family matters and the human condition in “a world gone mad”- basically, the politics of relationships in America today. In 1996 and ’97 Angelo put out the first Dr. Madd Vibe CD, book and video. The trio was called “The Missing link presents the Dr. Madd Vibe’s Comprehensive Linkology”. It’s like the annual county fair in the Twilight Zone with Angelo providing the background music being pumped in over invisible intercoms. You can get it at the shows or on his web site. In 1999, Dr. Madd Vibe started spreading the word across the states, hitting the Midwest, the East Coast and the South (that was interesting).
